We sincerely doubt you’ll ever need help to use this app. Moving Around TickTickĪnother thing TickTick gets right is navigation: you move between panes with just a single click, and can assign tasks, change due dates, set recurring tasks and every other thing pretty much the same way. Managers like Microsoft To-Do or even Google’s project management tools focus on completing tasks one by one, without regard for the bigger picture. We wish more task management apps took this broad approach rather than getting bogged down in details. Much the same goes for the calendar: just open it and there are all your tasks, neatly arranged. If you need a complete overview of what needs to be done, just open the directory and you’re good to go. Let’s take a look at what TickTick can do.Īll you need to use TickTick is a working mouse.Īs we mentioned earlier, TickTick also allows you to stack several lists into a single directory, making overview easy. However, if you use TickTick as intended, as a lightweight task manager with some advanced functions, you’ll quickly find you’re dealing with one of the best designed and most easy-to-use apps out there.

While TickTick is one of the best project management tools for freelancers, it won’t be replacing the full suites like or Asana anytime soon.

  • If you’re just looking for an app to keep track of grocery lists and the like, TickTick will be OK, but Any.do will be better.
  • It also has some advanced features, like a solid calendar and a kanban board, but it’s not as powerful as a full project management program.

Time Machine vs Arq vs Duplicati vs Cloudberry Backup.I honestly can't think of a to-do app with integrated calendaring, all the features you're looking for, as well as widgets as robust as TickTick. I'll keep thinking.Just to clarify: you're looking for a single app that is both full fledged Todo and calendar app? Like, not just a way to see scheduled tasks on a calendar, but a to-do list app that also lets you do everything a calendar app would?

(I think it's worth it for all the extra features you get, been a subscriber for years.)

TickTick's calendar functionality is much better if you subscribe, but you might not want to do that. Just to clarify: you're looking for a single app that is both full fledged Todo and calendar app? No adding tags through hashtag or anyway on the widget. Otherwise I have to go into the app itself and specify the list. All the events and colored and add events from within the widget window, but it automatically add tasks to the default list. Not so intuitive.Īny.do on the other side does calendar perfectly. It doesn't show recurring events, and when you add a new event it opens another app. However it definitely lacks when it come to planning and using calendar. It is a key feature for me to be able to do everything using home screen widgets as going into the app is too much work, and if something takes that much work I will just stop doing it eventually. Very simple and clear and efficient and packs all the features and all the widgets.

Now Ticktick is hands-down the best to-do experience I have had. So it makes more sense just to use one app for both calendar and to-do lists. See I don't like having apps with overlapping functionality.
